Vallejo Chamber of Commerce
Vallejo Chamber of Commerce is organized for the purpose of advancing the commercial, industrial,
civic and general interests of the city of Vallejo and the surrounding community. The Vallejo Chamber promotes a strong
local economy by facilitating and encouraging sustainable commercial, industrial and residential development.
They work closely with the City of Vallejo to strengthen and expand existing businesses and attract new businesses to Vallejo.
They work with other local economic development organizations such as the Vallejo Business Alliance, Vallejo Convention &
Visitors Bureau, the Downtown Association of Vallejo, the Business/Labor Partnership of Vallejo, SCORE and the Solano
Economic Development Corporation to expand existing businesses, attract new businesses and provide small businesses with development assistance.
Touro University
Touro University-California is a rapidly expanding graduate education institution focusing on health careers and teacher
preparation programs. There are four colleges at Touro University - California: The College of Osteopathic
Medicine prepares students to become outstanding osteopathic physicians committed to primary care and the holistic
approach to the patient. The college of Health Sciences offers a Physicians Assistant/Master of Public Health program
dedicated to the development of mid-level practitioners.
The College of Education offers teacher credential programs as well as administrative and special education credentials.
The College of Pharmacy offers a program that prepares students for a clinically oriented, contemporary pharmacy practice.
California Maritime Academy
The California Maritime Academy (CMA) is one of the twenty-three campuses of the California State University (CSU) system.
Founded in 1929, it is the only maritime college in the Western United States. The California Maritime Academy is a marine-oriented
college of business and technology offering degrees in Business Administration, Facilities Engineering Technology, Global Studies,
Marine Engineering Technology, Marine Transportation, and Mechanical Engineering. Cal Maritimes degree programs combine intellectual
learning, applied technology and professional development to prepare graduates for positions of significant responsibility and
technical difficulty.
Solano Community College - Vallejo Campus
Solano Community College (SCC) has a new, 40,000 square feet, state of the art Vallejo Center that accommodates 3000 students.
This conveniently located facility, situated on a 10-acre site in the Northgate area, includes classrooms, science and computer labs,
an auditorium and a multi-use facility serving the physical education, dance and theatre programs. SCC offers community-based programs
that include transfer education to four-year colleges, career training, and a wide variety of short-term programs.
The Convention & Visitors Bureau
The Vallejo Convention & Visitors Bureau is a non-profit 501 C-6 designated organization dedicated to promoting tourism, meetings and conferences in
the Vallejo area. The main goal of the VCVB is to promote its city as an overnight travel destination generating nearly $1.4 million or more annually for
the City of Vallejo's General Fund through the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT).
